Dear Project of the Month Club,

Summer is winding down here in DC and that means a few things: kids are back to school, our September Open Challenge is in full swing, and the temperature is finally beginning to drop. While I do love the cool weather, I’ve got something much cooler to share: the impact your donations are making for nonprofits around the globe!

In August, 215 of you gave a total of $6,985 to The Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project's Provide Education To AIDS Orphans In Rural Uganda project. Thanks to your donations, 20 HIV/AIDS orphans in Uganda will be able to not only attend school for an entire year, but also have supplies, healthcare, and two hot meals each day!

This September, your monthly donation will support The Kasiisi Project’s Sanitary Pads Keep Ugandan Girls In School project, which has three main initiatives: keeping girls in school, helping girls stay informed about their reproductive health, and eventually giving students the opportunity to be economically independent.

Caroline Riss, an advisor and board member of The Kasiisi Project, has this message for you:

“Thank you on behalf of the “Sanitary Pads Keep Ugandan Girls in School” Kasiisi Project for your generosity this month!  Our staff in Uganda was immediately relayed the exciting news and their reactions were priceless! Everyone had great ideas on how we could use the gift to further our programs related to sanitary pad distribution and sexual health education.”

So what can your donation do for The Kasiisi Project? Caroline and her team had a few ideas:

“The support you will provide this month will allow for extra materials and trainings for our peer education program, which trains young women to be peer educators in their schools and inform other girls (and refute myths) about reproductive health, menstruation, puberty and relationships with boys.  The peer educators are taught by our community health worker who circulates between the primary schools giving lessons and handing out sanitary pads.”

We are continuously blown away by the amazing impact Project of the Month Club members like you make each and every month. Thank you for your continued support!

Warmly,

Mari + the GlobalGiving Team
