Dear Project of the Month Club,

I don’t know about you, but I can hardly believe it’s nearly the end of 2015. So many spectacular things have happened this year and we’ve got so much to be thankful for at GlobalGiving, including the continuous support from the Project of the Month Club! You’ve come together to give more than $80,000 in donations to earth-changing projects on GlobalGiving! This is truly amazing and we cannot thank you enough.

Now let’s see the impact you made this past month.

In November, 236 of you gave a total of $7,512 to support Educate the Children’s Better Schools in Rural Nepal project. Your donations are providing children in Nepal with a safe space to attend school and are helping rebuild schools after the earthquakes this past spring.

This December, your donation is taking a trip down under to support Rainforest Rescue’s Adopt Vulnerable Rainforest in Australia project, which will allow Rainforest Rescue to purchase hundreds of trees and local seeds to restore the Daintree Rainforest in Queensland, Australia!

Sumeena Keshow, a team member at Rainforest Rescue, has this message for you:

“It’s wonderful news to hear that our ‘Adopt a Vulnerable Rainforest’ project has been selected to feature in the Project of the Month Club. We are so pleased to be offered this opportunity. Thank you for supporting us in this important work to rescue, restore and conserve these unique rainforests forever.”

Wondering how your donations will help Rainforest Rescue? Sumeena had some brilliant ideas:

“A gift from the Project of the Month Club will go towards supporting the important and essential work at our native plant nursery in the Daintree, Australia. These funds will go directly toward the local seed collection activity for the nursery.

“Local seed collection is one of the most important activities for our team in the Daintree. It helps guarantee the coming years’ season of seedling propagation for our ongoing restoration projects. Our rangers working with local community volunteers collect local fruits from endemic trees and flowering plants from within the Daintree Lowlands, then sort and catalogue the seeds prior to being sown for the germination process.

“As we only ever use local native trees for our restoration projects, it is essential that we continue the native plant nursery activity cycle all year round. Without seed collection, we wouldn’t be able to carry out restoration work between the rainforest Lowlands and the Daintree World Heritage Listed areas that provide the endangered Southern Cassowary with the vital habitat connectivity it needs in order to survive.”

From the GlobalGiving team and all of the people you’ve helped this year: thank you! You have made 2015 another incredible year for us and our nonprofit partners and we cannot wait to see the impact you make in 2016.

See you next year!

Warmly,

Kevin + the GlobalGiving Team
