Dear Project of the Month Club,
Happy autumn! I’m happy to report that another effective nonprofit is November’s Project of the Month.
In October, 355 of you gave a total of $12,137 to support HERA’s project Prevent Trafficking in Women thru Entrepreneurship. HERA works across Europe to support survivors of modern slavery and violence through mentorship, entrepreneurship, and grants for women-led startups.
Starting today, you’ll be supporting GLOW’s Girls Leading Our World Leadership Academy project. GLOW, based in Bulgaria, hosts a week-long leadership academy every year for 85 teenage girls. The event focuses on improving leadership skills, building self-esteem, and fighting intolerance. Magy Kaleyenska, chairman of the board for GLOW, was a GlobalGiving ambassador last year and hosted a workshop for our nonprofit partners in Bulgaria. She’s also currently a mentor for GlobalGiving partners, giving them tips for marketing your nonprofit on a budget.
Magy was so excited to hear GLOW’s Leadership Academy was selected as the November Project of the Month. She asked me to pass this message along to you:
“GLOW Bulgaria is extremely grateful to be selected as the GlobalGiving Project of the Month for November. In this month of thanks, we cannot be thankful enough to the Club members for giving us the opportunity to spread the GLOW-ing spirit and mission globally.
“Such a generous amount would provide GLOW the opportunity to multiply the work we're doing and scale up the number of trainings we conduct in Bulgaria, to reach over 1,000 adolescents in 2018. We would use the donations to empower the youngsters through specialised training, tailored specifically to develop their leadership potential. We will also be able to dedicate a resource to work alongside the trainees on creating a long-term strategy on how they can have a continuous impact in their communities. We're extremely excited about this opportunity!”
GLOW’s work, along with your support, is shaping the lives of young women in Bulgaria. I look forward to sharing the last Project of the Month for 2017 with you soon!
Warmly,
Mari Kuraishi + the GlobalGiving Team
