For the past few months, I was busy as usual; there are always many sick and weak stray cats out there, and I would like to share some stories to you:
White Face – he has an inflamed and sore mouth again, that’s why he didn’t eat much and he is getting thinner than before. Therefore, I need to bring him to the clinic regularly; besides, he needs to have long-acting antibiotic and steroid injections once a month; more than that, he gets the treatment of Reiki twice a week. The condition of White Face is similar to Black and White (the cat lives in Cha Kwo Ling), who has infected with Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and FIV cause him to have mouth ulcers. For sure we know that if White Face eats a lot of medicines very often, his kidney function is getting worse; however, there is no choice. As you know, it is not easy to take care of a cat with FIV without extra effort; for that reason, we are difficult to find an adoption or temporary care for White Face, no one to take risks to look after FIV’s cats. What I can do for White Face is to make him feel comfortable every day and take good care of him.
Flying cat Little White – he has multiple skin wounds; therefore, we brought him to Yuen Long for veterinarian. The blood test result shows that those wounds are due to FIV issues; other than that, he is generally fine. You know what Little White is a super noisy cat; he kept meowing from Tai O to Yuen Long in the taxi, probably he was so nervous and worried about the visit.
Little Black and White – he has a wound on his body, but was so difficult to find it, but good that our neighbor discovered his body had a wound because the neighbor loves to play with him every day. Although the wound was very deep this time, it was starting to heal. The Vet requested us to clean his wound every day, put some ointment on his wound and give him medicine on time. As long as we follow the vet’s instruction, Little Black & White will be fine.
Short-tailed Girl – she was very sick and almost died; but after 16 days of fighting, she finally discharged from the hospital. I was so worried and depressed, not only because I was concerned about the health of Short-tailed Girl but also I was so busy with other stray cats and family matters. It was really hard for me to pass thru those 16 days while Short-tailed Girl stayed in hospital; it is because we have very good relationship. Finally, Short-tailed Girl released from hospital because she was taken good care by medical staff.
Once again, we would like to ask for your help for their medical expenses, we couldn’t last long without your support. If possible, please send us a donation to help stray cats in Tai O and other areas in Lantau Island.
