For the past few months, I was busy as usual; there are always many sick and weak stray cats out there; and I would like to share some stories with you:
Water snake – he is 16 years old; he has 2nd stage of renal failure; we just brought him to the veterinarian for blood tests and examinations.
Huahua – she is nine years old; she has severe anaemia; therefore, veterinarian gave her some antibiotics, removed worms and fleas and then veterinarian will see her in a week to see any improvement. If not, Huahua will need to have a blood transfusion. For the past few days, she was doing good and ate lots of food; hopefully, she won’t need any blood transfusion at all.
Big Yellow – his right eye was constricted, and also his eyelid was prolapsed, drooping, and enophthalmos; therefore, we brought him to see a veterinarian. Fortunately, it was not a tumour, there was a chance of viral infection or otitis media. We need to let “Big Yellow” stay in Tai O Stray Cat Home campus to rest and observe for a period of time in a cage and pay attention to his condition.
Kam Chai – he scratched his mouth more often and he has difficulty in eating recently, we thought that he might have oral ulcers; it is because he had teeth removed 2 years ago. As a result, we need to bring him to our campus and stay inside of the cage to monitor his health, and then we will bring him to see a veterinarian in a week.
Hua Ma – she has a very serious oral ulcer, her mouth was ulcerated, red, swollen, and inflamed. For that reason, I tried to catch her and then bring her to the clinic, but it took me more than an hour. Fortunately, I finally caught her, but I fell down from the ladder and have bruises all over my body.
You can see due to the aging and sickness of stray cats; we have lots of expenses not only medical fee but also transportation fee; you know what we really can’t stand it anymore due to limited donation. Once again, we would like to ask for your help for their medical and transportation expenses, we couldn’t last long without your support. If possible, please send us a donation to help stray cats in Tai O and other areas in Lantau Island.
