The washable protection kits distributed in Burkina Faso are produced in Burkina by the association Actions pour les Besoins des Femmes (ABF) using the model of days for Girls.
With the stop of aids coming from the US, large institutions stopped ordering kits from ABF for their projects. ABF was in a difficult situation and we were thinking about closing ABF.
Thanks to Days for Girls (DFG) we got one order for Burkina of 3.000 kits and another one of 1.500 for Niger. Those orders helped us to keep ABF running. We are now producing uniforms for the nursery schools supported by APPA (Association pour des Petits Projets Africains) and for th students of the LAP (Lycée Agricole Privé).
Hopefully when the uniforms are ready we will get new orders either from institutions in Burkina or via Days for Girls.
The project EmpowerHer funded by the Rotary Club Utrecht International and Wilde Ganzen has been completed. Thanks to both organsiations we will be able to distribute an additional 650 kits to girls in primary schools.
We are looking for funding for similar projects. Do you know organsiations which could be interested?
Thank you for your support.
