We’re thrilled to share exciting progress from our Pedal to Excellence program! Thanks to your support, 45 students now use bicycles to attend weekly computer and coding classes in Adaklu. These classes—made possible by the Friends of Adaklu (FOA) Computer Program and Starlink-powered Learning Upgrade—are opening new doors in digital literacy and future job skills.
In total, over 145 students now have bicycles, many of whom used to walk more than an hour each way just to get to school. With bikes, their journeys are shorter, safer, and far more encouraging.
Impact Highlights
School attendance and punctuality have significantly improved
Students are more eager and motivated to learn
Neighboring communities have expressed interest in joining the program
Challenges We’re Tackling
A few students have struggled with bike maintenance due to not following riding rules. FOA is working closely with schools and families to ensure every rider understands proper use and care. We're also exploring repair workshops and safety training to extend the life of each bike.
Each bicycle continues to be a bridge to opportunity—fueling curiosity, confidence, and the chance for every child to ride toward a brighter future.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. Together, we’re moving education forward—one pedal at a time.
