Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting this project to protect 4,800 girls in Northern Nigeria from female genital mutilation (FGM). Your support helps provide education, mentorship, and community engagement, giving girls safer spaces and resources to avoid this harmful practice.
Thousands of girls face the risk of FGM due to cultural pressures and lack of awareness. The procedure can cause serious health complications, long-term psychological trauma, and limit girls’ ability to attend school or participate in community life. Families often lack knowledge of safer alternatives, leaving girls vulnerable to life-altering harm.
This project educates girls, families, and local leaders about the dangers of FGM, providing mentorship and safe spaces for guidance and support. Awareness campaigns promote alternatives to harmful practices, while training local leaders encourages advocacy for girls’ safety. By combining education and community engagement, the program reduces girls’ exposure to FGM and fosters healthier communities.
Over time, girls who avoid FGM can maintain better health, continue their education, and actively contribute to society. Communities that adopt safer practices experience improved overall health outcomes. Educated and protected girls grow into adults who can positively influence social and economic development, helping break cycles of harmful cultural practices.
At the moment, donations received are not sufficient to launch the project, but with your continued support, we can safeguard these girls and ensure their health, safety, and future opportunities.
With thanks,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
