The citizen scientists of the Grenadines Seabird Guardians don't work in isolation. We recognize how important it is to increase concern about seabirds among the publc. That's why we go into schools, churches, and community groups to share our love for these amazing birds and inform people about things they can do to help.

It has been inspiring to see the enthusiastic response from participants, especially children. Maybe some of them will be future Seabird Guardians!

Educator Lystra Culzac has been busy visiting schools and churches, and even ran a free three-day summer camp in the Grenadines, thanks to support from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration fund, administered by the United States Department of Interior.  She has reached over 1,500 participants so far this year. Our survey results show that participants are gaining valuable knowledge from these interactive presentations and field trips as well as a dedicated seabird curriculum for schools.

We are thrilled to have more seabird advocates in the community and thank you for being a member of this growing force for conservation!
