No child should have to understand abuse alone. In Argentina, many children still lack the tools to recognize violence, ask for help, or be protected when they speak. Sexual abuse survives in silence, weak prevention, and failed justice. Amnesty works to secure access to Comprehensive Sexual Education, document violence affecting children, and push for policies and emblematic cases that turn silence into protection and justice.
A child should never carry abuse in silence, but silence is what protects abusers. In Argentina, gaps in Comprehensive Sexual Education leave children less able to recognize violence, understand consent and boundaries, or ask for help. Weak teacher training means warning signs are missed. Digital abuse, grooming, threats, and the sharing of intimate images without consent deepen the risk. When justice is slow, children are silenced again.
Amnesty will act through PROBE, PROTECT and PROSECUTE. PROBE: document policy gaps, risks and evidence affecting children. PROTECT: create practical tools for families and schools, support training, and defend prevention policies such as CSE. PROSECUTE: use strategic litigation, amicus briefs and advocacy to push for serious investigations and child-sensitive justice. The goal is to turn evidence into protection and protection into accountability.
This project helps build an Argentina where children are protected before abuse happens, believed when they speak, and defended when they seek justice. Over time, it strengthens access to Comprehensive Sexual Education, helps schools and families identify warning signs, documents gender-based and digital violence, challenges cuts to protection policies, and supports emblematic cases. Children should know abuse is never their fault and should not have to be brave alone.
