This project supports children living with HIV in Nigeria who face rejection, abuse, and in some cases violence because of their status. UNICEF reports about 110,000 adolescents live with HIV in Nigeria, with 7,100 girls newly infected in one year alone. We will provide care, protection, and support services to help affected children stay safe, healthy, and accepted in their communities.
Children living with HIV in Nigeria face serious harm. Some are isolated, abused, or even killed due to fear and misinformation. UNICEF reports 110,000 adolescents are living with HIV in Nigeria, and many lack proper care and protection. Low awareness and fear continue to put these children at risk, affecting their safety, health, and chances of living a normal life.
We will identify children living with HIV and provide medical support, counseling, and protection services. Community visits will help educate families and reduce harmful actions against affected children. We will also link children to care and safe spaces where they can receive support. This will help protect their lives and improve their health and daily living.
Children living with HIV will be safer, receive proper care, and live without fear. With about 130,000 children living with HIV in Nigeria, this effort will help reduce abuse and prevent loss of life. More families will understand HIV, accept affected children, and support their growth, leading to safer communities and better outcomes for children.
