Protect and Save the life of Our Rhinos

By Vuyo Mngomezulu | Personal Assistant to the CEO

Dear Supporters,

Rhinos, majestic creatures of the wild, are under constant threat due to a misguided belief that their horns can cure various illnesses. Despite no scientific proof to support this claim, the high price of rhino horns in the illegal trade market has led to relentless poaching. It’s heartbreaking to know that hundreds of rhinos are killed just for their horns.

Our anti-poaching team faces numerous attempts by poachers every day. It’s a constant battle, as poachers devise new and innovative tactics to infiltrate reserves and national parks. However, thanks to your unwavering support, we’re able to adapt and counter these tactics effectively.

Our team comprises 10 ex-race horses and rangers who conduct 24/7 perimeter checks. Their constant presence helps deter poachers. Using ex-racehorses not only gives these animals a purpose post-retirement but also reduces our environmental impact by minimizing diesel usage.

In addition, we have a robust K9 unit that provides a swift response when our motion cameras detect trespassers. The funding for these initiatives, including the food for our dogs and horses, comes from your generous donations.

A donation of $25, for instance, covers the cost of food for our K9 unit that tirelessly patrols the perimeter fencing. In the future, we aim to install more cameras, as they have proven to be an effective deterrent against poaching.

Your support is invaluable in our mission to protect these magnificent creatures. Together, we can ensure a safe future for our rhinos.

Thank you for standing with us in this fight.
