Preparing for a Busy Season

By Leah | Project Support

Hello Lovely Ocean and Turtle Supporters!

Tourism is coming back in full force and as we prepare for a busy year across Thailand we know that this year we need to raise funds fast to be able to respond and be ready for our Thailand Turtle Nesting Season that begins in May.

During this time we expect to have thousands of calls to rescue turtles that have been washed up because tourists and global rubbish in the ocean is floating when these babies first get into the water, as soon as they swallow a bit of plastic they become sick, lose the family and end up washed up. We have caused this with our poor management of recycling and waste and now we need to step up and try to save these amazing turtles!

As well as battling with rescues we also struggle from nests being distroyed or interupted along the beaches of Thailand due to tourists so our rescue team need funds to get out and about on the beaches to build protection barriers and help educate the local tourist population so we can try and save as many turtles as possible this season.

The third thing we have to fund and urgently need help with is the running costs, supplies of medicine, local vet's and food for what we expect will be over 200 hatchling turtles that are brought back to our rehab hospital for care and rehabilitation before we can re-realise them

Every save we have done comes through support you and others like you give us so we thank you for being apart of the solution

Thank You
