So much of the work at Mama Dragons over the last few years has been in supporting, educating, and empowering the Mama Dragons community. We've built an incredible Community of Care that has changed lives in tangible ways. We have steadily grown to serve over 11,000 members across a wide variety of religious (and non-religious) traditions, geographical locations, political affiliations and cultural backgrounds while keeping the health and well-being of our LGBTQ+ children as our primary mission.
Every day, we see parents who reach out to share both their challenges and celebrations that are inherent to parenting an LGBTQ+ child in this moment. That is why Mama Dragons is more focused than ever on bringing new resources and energy to our work in 2025.
In preparation for a year of growth next year, we have been busy building out our Mama Dragons infrastructure as well as our public-facing programs. We have added a phenomenal resource page to help our members find everything from basic education about LGBTQ+ people to helpful links to find legal help, medical services, etc, information about policies, and how to engage in the process of changing hearts and minds in all the places where decisions are being made that affect our LGBTQ+ children and our families. We provide training in holding courageous conversations that could change hearts and minds - within your family, schools, church, and community. We are planning our return to Pride events across the country to deepen our connections with local communities and expand our network of support in places where it is most needed. We added two more affinity groups to our secure community groups, bringing our current total to 9 affinity groups and 19 regional groups. We are expanding our e-learning platform with more online courses to meet the needs of our members and we are opening those courses up to the public for more opportunities for learning and growth.
Your donation is critical to our work at this moment. It allows us to work directly in more communities across the country - building very much-needed connections with other parents on the same journey and empowering our Mama Dragons to hold courageous conversations in all the places where decisions are made that impact our LGBTQ+ children and our families.
Thank you for being a partner in the work of Mama Dragons.
