Last month, our team had the privilege of visiting Dora Nginza Hospital, a large public hospital in our city that serves thousands of patients, many of whom come from low-income or crisis backgrounds. Our goal was to support new mothers in need by delivering essential items for both them and their newborns.
We assembled and delivered 20 baby shower bags, each thoughtfully packed with the key items a mother and baby need in the first few weeks of life. These bags were given directly to mothers in crisis situations - women who arrived at the hospital with little to no support or resources.
Each bag included:
Newborn clothing
Nappies
Baby wipes
Blankets
Toiletries for mom and baby
In addition to the baby shower bags, we donated a significant quantity of essential supplies to the hospital itself. These items are now available for hospital staff to give to mothers who arrive in emergency situations without any belongings, as well as to women from extremely poor backgrounds.
Items donated to the hospital included:
Baby blankets
Baby and bum creams
Bibs
Soft, cuddly stuffed toys
Newborn clothing
These donations provided immediate comfort and dignity to mothers and their newborns in some of their most vulnerable moments. Hospital staff expressed deep gratitude for the support, noting that these supplies help bridge critical gaps in care and allow them to offer more compassionate support to those in desperate need.
We are deeply thankful to our donors and supporters who made this outreach possible. Together, we are not just meeting material needs—we are restoring dignity, offering hope, and making sure no new mother feels alone.
