Our staff member took a child survivor to the criminal court to testify before the court in a large online trafficking case. We partnered with the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security on this case to ensure that the children involved received the best care.
Our team is grateful for your donations because we were able to support the care of the child survivor so that all travel expenses and accommodation costs were taken care of. The staff members on this case quickly noticed that the survivors wanted to talk to each other and learn more about each other so they arranged a lunch to have all together.
It was the first time we saw the children smile and feel comfortable. After a long trip to the court and a difficult testimony, it was a highlight to see them laugh together during lunch. While this case is still not over, HUG’s social work team continues to monitor the case and the child’s journey towards healing.
