FAVL has purchased approximtely $700 worth of children's books for libraries in Burkina Faso thanks to generous donations. See earlier reports for receipts and updates.
The balance for this project currently is only $20. We are awaiting further funding to move ahead.
Meanwhile, FAVL activities continue in Burkina Faso, with a large project called Beoog Biiga II to establish 20 community libraries in northern Burkina Faso, funded by USDA in collaboration with Catholic Relief Services. The libraries are scheduled to open by the end of 2015, and Fatou Keita books will be prominently displayed in the libraries. They are exactly what kids want to read. The budget for the Beoog Biiga II project is sufficient for Fatou Keita books in every one of the new 20 libraries. But kids in the other 13 libraries supported by FAVL would still like to see even more Fatou Keita books, so we want to encourage you to donate to this project!
