In the last quarter, to support education and empowerment for women and girls across various dimensions, including mental health, family dynamics, sexual and reproductive health, and economic independence; we have achieved:
1. Mental Health and Emotional Support (Wellness Centre):
The Wellness Centre offers counseling, emotional support, and stress release activities, creating a safe space for women and girls to discuss their problems. It provides soft skills training on positive parenting and facilitates men’s conversations on gender roles and masculinity. These initiatives help women and girls understand their mental health needs, promote gender equity, and develop communication skills, fostering a supportive environment for their personal growth.
2. Family and Community Engagement (House of Families Project):
Through family activities, counseling, and support groups, the project enhances family cohesion and empowers women as key decision-makers. Engaging women in leadership roles during family visits and exchange programs increases their knowledge, confidence, and capacity to support their children and communities. Focus on positive parenting and family resilience directly contributes to women’s roles as educators and caregivers within their families.
3. Adolescent Girls’ Safety and Rights (Safer Cities for Girls):
The project trains youth, teachers, and community members on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), menstrual hygiene, and gender equality. Educational campaigns, peer-led initiatives, and digital content increase awareness among girls and young women about their health rights, challenge stigma, and promote safe, inclusive urban spaces. By involving girls in planning and advocacy, the project enhances their voice and leadership in community development.
4. Economic Empowerment (Incubator Project):
The Young Women’s Entrepreneurship (YWE) initiative focuses on developing women’s business skills, financial literacy, and civic engagement. Training sessions on budgeting, business planning, and access to grants enable women aged 18-45 to establish sustainable livelihoods. Networking opportunities and mentorship foster peer learning, confidence, and economic independence, directly supporting women’s education in entrepreneurship and financial management.
5. Capacity Building and Stakeholder Collaboration:
Across all activities, the projects emphasize training, community involvement, and partnerships with local authorities and NGOs. This approach ensures women and girls gain access to knowledge, skills, and resources essential for their personal and professional development, while fostering an environment of gender equity and community resilience.
Thank you so much for helping us spread this knowledge amongst the women and girls of Siem Reap!
