This project will provide 5,000 insecticide-treated mosquito nets to vulnerable families in Ghana to help prevent malaria and protect children and pregnant women from mosquito-borne diseases. Many low-income households in rural communities cannot afford proper mosquito protection, increasing the risk of illness and preventable deaths. This project will improve household health and reduce malaria infections through access to safe sleeping protection and community health education.
Malaria remains one of the leading causes of illness and death in Ghana, particularly among children under five and pregnant women. Limited access to mosquito nets and poor prevention measures leave many families vulnerable to mosquito bites and repeated infections. Rural communities are especially affected due to poverty and inadequate healthcare access.
This project will distribute 5,000 insecticide-treated mosquito nets to vulnerable families in rural and underserved communities. It will also provide education on proper net usage, malaria prevention, and early treatment practices to improve long-term health outcomes.
The project will reduce malaria infections, improve child and maternal health, and lower healthcare costs for vulnerable families. Children will experience fewer missed school days, while adults will have improved productivity and wellbeing. Over time, this project will contribute to healthier communities and stronger public health outcomes in Ghana.
