Thanks to some generous donations on GlobalGiving adding up to $200, FAVL was able to purchase 12 Aya books for the libraries in Burkina Faso. Sadly, DIACFA (the book store in the capital of Burkina Faso) was out of copies of the first book in the series, but we were able to get 5 copies of number 2 and 7 copies of number 3. That's enough for us to send one copy to each library to get their collections started. The kids will be excited to see the new arrivals. The graphic novels from Côte d'Ivoire are a big hit because they are written in west African French (lots of slang) and include relatable characters and stories.
Thank you all!
