Amid COVID 19 and political uproar in the country, FCDA could not continue activities physically and work was concentrated only virtually.
The funds received through out the project campaign was used to purchase land for the cultivation of mixed crops( yams, cassava, maize and potatoes) at the outskirt of Bertoua.
This project was geared towards supporting 5 IDPs youths and young adults who displaced from the South West and North West Region of the Country since 2016.
Upon approval of our organisation after due diligence, we commenced operations in December 2021.
We launched a campaign to target interested IDPs willing to engage in agriculture as livelihood to sustain their families. We purchased land one heactare of land in February 2022. This was followed by clearing, treatment, acquire seedlings, planting, weeding and we are poised to undertake our first harvest in August 2022( This can be found on the excel sheet attached).
The total cost of the project is 700,000frs and we project 1,400,000frs as revenue with a net profot of 700,000frs of which 500,000frs will be distributed to the 5 IDPs and 200,000frs to be ploughed back.
Our ROI is projected at 100%.
We have also recruited two volunteers who are working to ensure the smooth running of projects and writing of project proposals.
We are looking forward to engage on a large scale of cultivation of 2 hectares of farm land with same products and at this time, to involve 60 IDPs.
We are closely monitoring outcomes of the first project and verging to be an enabler to bring back peace, financial independence and food security to the most vulnerable affected with respect to the crisis.
We shall resume our monthly/quarterly updates.
Your support has been a powerful strength to our work. Your generosity has kept on us to champion the fight of global food insecurity and employment to the youths.
