Raise Your Voice Saint Lucia Inc has significantly enhanced its food support program to better serve victims of gender-based violence, vulnerable women, and marginalized families. Our updated food bags now include a wider variety of nutritious and enjoyable items, such as frozen sausages, eggs, cheese, butter, chicken parts, and potato wedges, alongside essential staples like rice, flour, canned goods, and hygiene products. This shift ensures that beneficiaries not only meet their basic nutritional needs but also enjoy small luxuries often taken for granted, fostering dignity and inclusion. By expanding our offerings, we aim to reduce the stigma and exclusion often faced by marginalized families, ensuring they receive the same quality and variety of food as others in the community.
In our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility, we have also eliminated the use of plastic bags for food distribution. Clients are now encouraged to bring reusable shopping bags when collecting their food supplies, reducing waste and promoting eco-friendly practices. This change aligns with our broader mission of empowering communities while protecting the environment. The transition has been well-received, as it not only benefits the planet but also encourages clients to take an active role in the distribution process, fostering a sense of ownership and participation.
Despite these positive improvements, the demand for food assistance continues to grow, and we urgently appeal for increased support and donations. Rising living costs and economic challenges have left more families in need, and sustaining our expanded food program requires ongoing funding. We call on individuals, businesses, and organizations to contribute to our GlobalGiving project so we can continue providing dignified, comprehensive support to those who need it most. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable women and families in Saint Lucia. Together, we can ensure no one is left behind.
