On the 14th of March, a group of volunteers and educators went to the first project meeting on Educational Support, in the neighborhood of Villa 31, in the Retiro area of the Federal Capital. The space is designed to provide school support to children in the neighborhood.
Yesterday was a particular start because we arrived at 5pm and within a few minutes it started pouring rain. The children who were waiting for us were very excited to play with us, but unfortunately we were unable to play with them outdoors due to the rain. So, we went inside the Club to start the school support work with the children. They were very happy to talk to us, the volunteers, and they were enthusiastic to start with the activities.
The children’s homework were all different; some were working on spelling, others on mathematics and comprehension. We split up into different groups to cater our support to the needs of the child.
Despite the rain, we had a nice meeting and we were able to adapt well to the limitations of the weather.
I loved meeting the people who work at Villa 31 because they are kind people and have a passion for their work. The children who were there were very friendly and open with us, even though it was the first time we met. I'm glad I was able to visit this place and meet the friendly people who work there. They do a very important job and they do it with passion.
