The straggered return to the classrooms

By Lucas Pompilio | Volunteer

Dear Donor, once again we want to share with you an update regarding the Educational project. In the current year, Mensajeros de la Paz has opened their headquarters in Lugano and Barrio 31. Furthermore, sites located in the province of Buenos Aires like Ciudadela, Burzaco and Villa Bosch have also re-opened.

In general, the dynamic and management of these locations work for in-person classes. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, it was modified and adjusted to the national restrictions. For this reason, it was established as a combination of virtual and semi-attendance classes in which we carried out the protocol’s done by the Argentinean Ministry.

In this context, Luther Rodríguez who is an educator expressed: “the return to the classrooms meant children’s meeting which allows strengthening their bonds. In addition, it helps us to address subjects of their education that were hampered in the virtual framework. That’s why we deployed health measures to take care of each other and give children the possibility of the long-awaited re-encounter.”

This project hosts 200 children between 6 and 12 years old, but approximately 30 are enrolled at each venue. Even though the main purpose is to support and assist, it also strives for the increase and reinforcement of digital knowledge. This wisdom is used with the administration of devices combined with the “Potenciar Solidario” project and families' capacitation with the latest technology.

Thanks to Mensajeros effort concerning learning resources, nowadays a new educational material called “Educate and grow” is being used. Nevertheless, volunteers use extra aids to strengthen their learning. Despite the ongoing challenges, children have maintained the enthusiasm and endeavor to acquire new knowledge.

All these achievements would not be possible without the unwavering support of the Mensajeros team and the kindness of our donors. Thank you!
