Background
Together we can empower individuals in Africa who are interested in creating small businesses. This will give them the opportunity to get out of poverty and help in the development of their community through boosting economic development. We will provide small loans for business investments as well as training and coaching to entrepreneurs in the rural areas of the Maritime Region in Togo. In February 2021, we reached our initial funding goal of USD 10,000 and we have now raised the target.
Project update
The project in Togo is going well and the businesses are flourishing! There is a huge demand to further scale the businesses and we are working to raise more capital to meet this and to further support the social entrepreneurs. As the the organisation in Togo has grown and we want to make it more managable, we have agreed to divide the programme into sub-programmes with 100 women in each of them. We have also agreed that in this type of programmes, 5% of the interest is directed towards our regional programme management partner to cover costs and reimbursement, and 5 % becomes an income to the RISE Center in Togo, also to cover costs and reimbursment.
