Due to drought this year in Mali, food prices have exponentially increased. Additionally because of a war which broke out in the north of Mali this January and still continuing, logistical problems have made transportation of crop and other food products difficult. The war has also led to an increase in the number of vulnerable children on the streets of Bamako. Over 30,000 individuals have been displaced from their homes, often leaving behind their children unattended. We are working with the government entities to ensure placement of displaced parents’ children. Finally, do not miss the children’s role play posted on our website. It depicts the conditions that they were living in prior to arrival at ACFA, and how their lives have been changed by your generosity.
