Provide Food to 200 Elderly People

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for your support to our project providing food to elderly people. Unlike in other countries, our elderly are being taken cared of relatives and live with them. The problem are those that are very poor and can barely cope with unproductive members. Most of the time the elderly relatives have many needs like medicines and food and families have difficulty in providing these. So our effort is geared towards providing small livelihoods in order to sustain support in the long run not only for a few days compared to when we only provide them with food supply. Food supply is very much needed and important when there is a disaster and the elderly need so much help. This reporting time we are able to provide vegetable gardening inputs to 120 elderly and their families, thanks very much for your help.

Dear Friend,

Thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative provide food to 200 elderly people. This reporting period we focus our support to the provision of vegetable seeds and organic fertilizer to elderly people and their families who signify their intent to undertake food production. We promote the growing of local vegetables as well as the growing of short-term crops like legumes and bananas. In this way the elderly will be able to access food in their backyards and farms. In the past we provided them with food packs but this is causing dependency and lack of energy among the elderly. The growing of food crops is important for them because aside from getting food directly from the farm, they are able to do exercise and feel that they are productive rather than static and non-energetic. They can also do food production on their own pace and time. Again thank you very much and hoping for your continuing support.
