Kitchen Garden support During COVID-19

By Team | RSKS India

Respected Donor,

Malnutrition is one of the common talk with rural remote village people. Malnutrition has been there for many years as in village people are not able to buy/ consume healthy and nutitious food. Rural people are used to eat Bread and onion most of the times and they do not know the different types of vegetables and fruits available in the city markets as they spend their whole life in the rural area. Due to not eating healthy and nutritious food, these people do face malnutrition and get sick more oftenly.

RSKS India went to these villages and took motivational session with 10 families and in that session told them about the different types of vegetables and fruits which they can grow in the waste water coming from their houses. Kitchen Garden technique was told to them and to adopt this proper training and seeds were also given to them by which they can have their own small kitchen garden at their house.

These 10 families adopted the technique and dug the land over there waste water area in order to plant the seeds. In future this kitchen garden will be providing them healthy and nutritious vegetables and fruits which will be beneficial for them and will make their health better and malnutrition will be completely vanish away from their area and these 10 families will be a great example for the other rural area people and kitchen garden will then be followed at a vast scale.

A Impact story from Ground......

I am Sugana (Name Changed) from Bheem village which is far away from the city. I am 26 years old and I live with my 6 year old son and my husband. I had to face many problems while giving birth to my son as i was so thin. My son is not like the city children as we are not able to provide him different types of vegetables or fruits which the city children eat.

My husband work as ditcher and I work as a housewife. One day when RSKS India came to our place they told us about an easy way to provide nutritious and healthy food to my son and this way was adopting kitchen garden. Kitchen Garden! is what I asked to myself but then the RSKS Team members told be about this technique in a very easy way and I was amazed to to know that the waste water can be so much useful.

RSKS Team members also gave me training and provided me seeds which I myself dug in the waste water area. Now I can see small plants coming out from that area and in future those plants will provide healthy and nutirtious fruits and vegetables for me and my family.

Once again thank you so much for your valuable Support.

Regards
