Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) organized side event at the United Nations Office at Geneva during HRC 54, under the visionary leadership of Dr. Deepak Sharma, the Chief Executive Officer of RSKS India. The event centered around the theme "Ensuring Gender Equitable Practices at Every Place through SAMATVA and Highlighting Good Approaches to Development and Achieving SDGs".

The event aimed to shed light on the crucial topic of gender equity through the lens of SAMATVA, signifying equitable practices. Through panel discussions, presentations, and interactive sessions, we sought to emphasize the pivotal role that equitable practices play in fostering gender equality, not only in Rajasthan but on a global scale. The side event commenced with an introduction by Dr. Sharma, who eloquently outlined the objectives and significance of the theme. His comprehensive understanding of the subject matter provided a solid foundation for the discussions that followed.

The panelists, comprised of experts and practitioners in the fields of gender equality, education, environment conservation, and water conservation, brought forth invaluable insights and perspectives. Their collective expertise enriched the discourse, providing attendees with actionable strategies and best practices for fostering inclusive and equitable environments.

One of the highlights of the event was the emphasis on good approaches to development in critical sectors. The panelists shared innovative strategies and success stories in the areas of education, environment conservation, and water conservation. These examples served as tangible evidence that progress is attainable through concerted efforts and targeted initiatives.

We were heartened to witness active participation from individuals representing 20 different countries, as well as numerous organizations. The diverse array of perspectives contributed to a rich and multifaceted dialogue, underscoring the global relevance of the theme. The concluding moments of the event were marked by resounding applause and expressions of appreciation from the attendees. It was evident that the discussions had resonated deeply with the audience, and the efforts of RSKS India were acknowledged with gratitude.

Learning + Experience = Success!

Hello Everyone,

I'm Ronak, currently I'm pursuing my masters in social work at Central University of Rajasthan. For my 1st semester agency setting field work, I was placed in RSKS with my 2 classmates. We worked in RSKS for around 3 months. RSKS works in many different fields but we specifically worked in education.

We worked under guidance of CEO Dr Deepak Sharma & Team RSKS India. We worked in the slum areas of Ajmer City. We did a campaign for awareness for education in different slum areas and focused on teaching the children there the basic knowledge of alphabet and writing their names. At some extent we succeeded in this campaign and most of the children of these slum areas know how to write their names and have a basic understanding of alphabet.

RSKS is also working for girl education specifically for the girls who are dropped out of school. RSKS have set up PATHSHALA schools for these girls and providing them with free and quality education. In these schools they provide them not only with the quality education but with life skills education, and so much more.

As it was my first time working with a NGO , I had a great experience working with RSKS. I learned about different sectors an organisation works and also it enhanced my skills of working in field and with children. RSKS provided us with a great learning experience. It was an amazing experience working with Dr Deepak Sharma sir and the whole team of RSKS, everyone here has a good knowledge of their field and are very creative. Every one of them taught us some great things that will help us in future while working in development sector.

I thank Dr. Deepak Sharma sir for providing us with this opportunity to learn and to enhance our skills.

Biporjoy Cyclone: Humanitarian Food Relief!!

In the aftermath of the devastating Biporjoy Cyclone, slum and street families in the affected areas of Ajmer, Rajasthan faced severe disruptions to their daily lives, including the loss of homes, belongings, and livelihoods. With their already vulnerable socio-economic status, these families were suddenly left without access to basic necessities, including food. The cyclone's impact exacerbated their struggles, pushing them deeper into poverty and making it increasingly difficult for them to secure their next meals.

Recognizing the urgent need for immediate assistance, RSKS India swiftly organized a relief effort to provide crucial support to the affected families with the support of RSKS's local partners. The solution was to distribute comprehensive Ration/Grocery Kits that contained a range of essential items to ensure the well-being and food security of these families for 3-4 weeks. Each kit was thoughtfully curated, including staples such as rice, lentils, cooking oil, flour, spices, and other nutritional necessities. RSKS's team members efficiently coordinated the distribution of these kits, ensuring that every affected family received the support they needed.

The impact of RSKS India's humanitarian initiative was profound and far-reaching. By providing Ration/Grocery Kits to the 715 slum and street families affected by the Biporjoy Cyclone, RSKS not only addressed their immediate hunger crisis but also offered a glimmer of hope in the midst of despair. The kits not only alleviated the families' worries about food scarcity but also gave them the strength to rebuild their lives. The families expressed heartfelt gratitude to RSKS India's team members for their timely intervention.
