We Have Been Getting your Valuable Generous support through GlobalGiving and we are Thankful to you from the Core of our Heart.
Diwali is the festival of lights and happiness. On the occasion of Diwali, People illuminate their homes with earthen lamps and decorative lights and share the joy and happiness with all. When everyone is celebrating Diwali, at the same time there remains darkness in the life of street children. All of our children enjoy sweets, new clothes and fire-crackers with their family members, relatives and friends whereas these helpless poor children just see others celebrating Diwali.
On the occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights and happiness, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan took initiative to get the life of such poor children from darkness to light. RSKS, with the financial support of GlobalGiving Foundation, organized a program for such children and made their Diwali they had never celebrated in their life. RSKS celebrated Diwali with 215 poor children from the slums of the city and gave them gifts.
The children got fireworks, new clothes, soft toys, sweets, chocholate, etc. as gifts by RSKS and getting the stuffs brought smile to their faces. First of all, they curiously opened the packets of new clothes and immediately wore it and showed to others. They all were so excited for their new clothes that we are running out of words to explain their happiness. After wearing new clothes, they played with fireworks and shared sweets with each other. Their enthusiasm was on the top during the program that was noticed in the dance items they performed.
RSKS wished Happy Diwali to all children and in return the children wished Happy Diwali to RSKS, GlobalGiving Foundation and the donors and thanked to get them an opportunity to celebrate Diwali in such a manner they had never celebrated. RSKS also took feedback from the children which is mentioned below in their own words.
The Payal's flight :- My name is Payal and I'm 13 years old. This Diwali has become memorable for my whole life as every year my life remains full of darkness on Diwali. Last year, I had only one frock and I wandered wearing that only frock as my family didn't buy me a new one even I didn't play with fireworks. Watching other children playing with fireworks got me excited, but this year RSKS made my dream true and I celebrated Diwali wearing new clothes, had sweets and played with fireworks. I made this Diwali memorable by dancing and singing with other children for which I am thankful to all donors.
Nomadic Child Feeling's:- My name is Kishore. I came to Ajmer three months ago, earlier then I was living nomadic life with my family. It was just a dream for me to celebrate Diwali. I used to roam in streets and cheer up myself by watching others playing with fireworks and celebrating Diwali. But, this year I celebrated Diwali in Ajmer which would remain memorable Diwali for my whole life. RSKS gave me jeans & T-shirt, fireworks, sweets, etc. and I wore new clothes, played with fireworks and had sweets. Overall I enjoyed this Diwali in the manner that is known to everyone. I had never had such delicious sweet in my life. I am thankful to RSKS for making my dream true to celebrate Diwali and wish GlobalGiving Foundation and the donors Happy Diwali.
