An IMPACT !!****
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan has been working for health, education and nurturing of poor stret, slum and helpless children with determination. RSKS conducts feedback and follow-up activities at times in order to measure the effect and impact of the efforts made by the organization in which we come to know about stories of success of the beneficiaries. Among all such success stories, we are going to share some in the report.
Children live in the slums of the city are miles away from the main stream of education. These children waste their time in wandering whole day. The parents of such children move out to labour and not able to look after them, even they are not aware of the education of their kids.
RSKS took initiative and become helping hand for such wandering helpless children and brought such 24 children to the main stream of education. Our activists had to face several problems for the purpose. First, they consulted with the parents of the children as the parents were against to send their kids to school. Among the children there were some girls who had interest towards study, but due to the restrictions applied by the family members didn't allow them to move out. First of all, our activists had a meeting with the parents and family members of the childen and discussed the problem and made them understand the importance of education. The consultation was conducted in three phases and we got success to made them aware of education.
Then, we face another problem while completing the registration process in school as proper and complete documentation was required for the registration of children in school, but the parents didn't have the necessary identity documents of the children. Chandu and Manju, activists of RSKS, did hard work to complete the responsibility of getting their documents prepared legally.
Again, we find many difficulties to get the documents prepared and we didn't get any help from the government and other concernign offices. After a period of one and half month we got success to complete the documentation of the children and then the school registered them as students.
In the beginning, the children hesitated to go to school and learn there as they find absolutely different environment in the school. As the children come from the slums and deprived community, they faced discrimination in the school. The students in the school disparaged the children and never missed the opportunity to insult them, due to which the children left the school for some time. During feedback and follow-up activities, RSKS came to know about such problems, then the organization took action immediately and discussed the situation with the students and the teachers. Our activists made the students understand that the poor children were also a part of the society and they had equal right to be educated. These children also had interest to study, but unfavourable conditions didn't allow them to go to school. After that the students welcomed all 24 children and supported them to study.
Now, all 24 street children go to school and take classes regularly. Other students also support them to study that encourage them. This is the positive result of the hard work done by our activists. The children, after returning from school, get busy with home-work and other practice exercises and their parents and family members get so happy to see them learning and imagine a bright future for their kids. RSKS conducts follow-up these children at regular time intervals. The parents and family members of the children appreciate the initiative taken by RSKS and thank RSKS and the donors.
