Nomadic and innocent children live at road side and slums are also a part of the mainstream of the society, but they are not so fortunate to get their fundamental requirements fulfilled among which nutrition is one. In the lack of proper nutrition, such children get affected from malnutrition and become victims of several diseases.
Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan makes such poor and innocent children feel happiness at time by organizing different program through which their fundamental needs are fulfilled. In the series, RSKS, with the financial support of GlobalGiving & Donor's, organized Health Awareness and Balanced Nourishment program for these poor and innocent children. For this, RSKS first identified 10 distinct sljms of the city and organized 10 campaigns under the program in which Around 510 needy children participated. First, our activists taught the details of nutrients to the beneficiary children through flip-charts and then we measured their wieght to know about their weight as compared to their age. All children got necessary information of nutrients from milk, vegetables, eggs, pulses, fruits, etc. in games.
After this, our activists prepared nutritious and delicious food including eggs, salads, fruit, shake, sprouted beans, grams and other lentils etc. Children enjoyed the nutritious and delicious food and shared the food among each other. Children were so excited that can't be explained in word. The smile on their faces told the truth that they had never had such delicious and nutritious food.
A 14 years old girl, Seema in the campaign expressed her thoughts to our activists. In her words,.......
My name is Seema and I'm 14 years old. We all children live in slums and my friend and I are rag pickers and earn few pennies by collecting garbage. The nutritious and delicious food that I had today, I could never imagine such food as most of the time we don't have meal for the entire day and we have to sleep with hunger. We only stare such food on big shops, but today we got a chance to have such delicious food by RSKS and two sisters (young RSKS's women activists) of RSKS have taught us about nutrients and balanced diet for which I thank RSKS with love.
