Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan, implemented a targeted intervention to address energy deprivation among marginalized nomadic families living in slum conditions in Rajasthan. Through a structured community survey, six highly vulnerable households lacking access to basic electricity were identified. Recognizing the critical link between energy access, safety, and quality of life, the initiative aimed to provide sustainable lighting solutions to improve daily living conditions and promote dignity among underserved communities.

Following the identification process, portable solar lighting systems were distributed to each selected family. These systems included three LED bulbs, an emergency lamp, a solar panel, and mobile charging support, ensuring both functionality and long term usability. The intervention was designed to meet essential household needs while remaining environmentally sustainable. The immediate impact was significant homes that were once engulfed in darkness became illuminated, enabling children to study after sunset and allowing women to carry out household activities with greater safety, comfort, and confidence.

This initiative has not only addressed a critical infrastructure gap but has also strengthened a sense of security and well-being within the beneficiary families. The visible transformation from darkness to light has reinforced the importance of inclusive development and access to basic resources.
