Last month we helped Sandrine and her daughter, Olivia, escape domestic violence in Italy and return home to the United States to begin a new chapter free from abuse. Leaving an abusive situation in a foreign country and navigating the journey home can be frightening and uncertain, especially when a mother is fighting to protect her child and secure a safer future for them both.
We worked to help turn that uncertainty into a path forward by connecting Sandrine with an attorney in the U.S., arranging safe housing for their arrival, and linking them with local resources and counseling. Our support helped ensure that they would not arrive home without a place to turn or a foundation from which to rebuild. For Sandrine and Olivia, returning to the United States was more than a journey across borders; it was an opportunity to reclaim their safety, begin healing from their experiences, and look toward a future shaped not by fear, but by hope, dignity, and the possibility of peace.
This is the heart of Pathways' work, and because of donors like you American mothers and their children move beyond survival and toward a life where they can feel safe, supported, and free to begin again.
We truly appreciate your support!
