Project Report | May 25, 2026
Empowering Youth Through Sports & Well-Being

By Maria Reyes | Fundraising Officer

During this reporting period, Club de Niños y Niñas de Nuevo León continued strengthening the development and well-being of children, adolescents, and youth through complementary educational, sports, artistic, and human development activities designed to prevent school dropout and reduce exposure to high-risk environments.

Our strategy is based on the belief that strengthening skills and capabilities is one of the most effective ways to prevent school abandonment and help young people build safer, healthier, and more positive futures. Through this project, participants engaged in structured recreational and educational activities that promoted healthy lifestyles, emotional well-being, teamwork, and positive social interaction.

One of the main initiatives implemented during this period was a sports-based intervention program that used soccer as a tool for social and emotional development. The program sought to strengthen the integral well-being of children, adolescents, and young people by promoting healthy habits, socioemotional skills, and participation in positive recreational activities.

The project strategy was built around three key pillars:

  1. Promoting healthy lifestyles through sports.
  2. Strengthening emotional management skills.
  3. Developing socioemotional skills through recreational and group activities.

The results achieved demonstrate the positive impact of the program on participating youth:

  • 95% improved gross motor skills, coordination, physical condition, and teamwork through soccer practice.
  • 80% increased their knowledge of healthy nutrition and healthy lifestyles.
  • 88% strengthened socioemotional skills such as empathy, teamwork, and positive coexistence.
  • 85% developed tools for stress management, anxiety control, and emotional self-regulation.
  • 90% improved social skills and fostered healthier relationships and environments.

These activities provided children, adolescents, and youth with safe spaces where they could remain engaged in positive environments, away from violence and other social risks commonly present in their communities. Through sports, guidance, and human development activities, participants strengthened resilience, confidence, and essential life skills that contribute to their academic continuity and personal growth.

When children and adolescents have access to educational, recreational, and socioemotional development opportunities within their communities, they are more likely to envision positive futures locally and less vulnerable to violence, unsafe migration, or involvement in criminal activities.

The activities were implemented at our San Pedro and Escobedo locations and benefited 420 children, adolescents, and youth.

Thanks to the support of donors and partners through GlobalGiving, Club de Niños y Niñas de Nuevo León continues creating opportunities for children and teenagers to stay in school, develop their talents, and envision a brighter future. Your generosity allows us to continue building safe, supportive, and transformative spaces for youth in Nuevo León.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us empower the next generation.
