Abdullah a 23-year-old factory worker had been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2020, after a sudden onset of severe symptoms, including vomiting, abdominal pain, and body aches.
Initially, Abdullah sought care at a neighboring clinic but was soon referred to a tertiary care hospital for further evaluation. During his 12-day hospitalization, he was started on insulin therapy. However, despite the treatment, his blood glucose levels remained uncontrolled, leading to another critical episode that required hospitalization.
Feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about managing his condition, Abdullah learned about SHINE Humanity’s Diabetes program from a relative.
At the clinic, Abdullah was started on a comprehensive diabetes management plan, which included regular blood glucose monitoring and a tailored insulin regimen (70/30 insulin). With consistent care and guidance from the clinic's healthcare team, Abdullah has achieved good glycemic control and significantly improved his quality of life.
Today, Abdullah's story is a testament to the importance of accessible, specialized care for managing chronic conditions like diabetes. With the help of our donors,SHINE Humanity is dedicated to quality primary healthcare to underserved communities. We are grateful for your support.
