gent Medical Relief: Expanding Access

By Ruaa Abu Odeh | Project leader

The project “Provide Medical Aid for Civilians in Palestine Now” (#61970) is currently operating in a highly urgent humanitarian context, where the need for medical support and assistive devices continues to increase significantly.

Due to the ongoing crisis, rising injuries, and increased arrests, there is a growing demand for a wide range of medical and assistive equipment. The project aims not only to support direct beneficiaries within our programs but also to extend assistance to local institutions and other individuals in need across the community, in order to maximize impact.

This approach ensures that limited resources are used to reach the largest possible number of vulnerable cases.

Project Focus

The project focuses on providing essential medical aid and assistive devices, including equipment that supports mobility, rehabilitation, and daily living needs for individuals affected by injuries, disabilities, or medical conditions.

These materials are distributed through:

  • Direct support to registered beneficiaries
  • Partnerships with local institutions
  • Emergency response to urgent community cases

Current Humanitarian Situation

The situation on the ground is becoming increasingly critical, with:

  • A rising number of injuries due to ongoing conflict
  • Increased arrests and related physical trauma cases
  • Growing demand for rehabilitation and assistive devices
  • Limited availability of medical support resources

As a result, the need for medical aid has expanded beyond individual cases to broader community-level needs.

Use of Medical Aid and Devices

The medical and assistive equipment provided through this project includes various types of supportive devices that help individuals regain mobility, independence, and dignity in daily life.

These devices are distributed not only to direct beneficiaries but also to:

  • Local rehabilitation centers
  • Community organizations
  • Emergency cases identified through field teams

This ensures wider reach and more effective use of available resources.

 Impact During This Period

  • Support provided to individuals in urgent need of medical aid
  • Distribution of assistive devices to both beneficiaries and partner institutions
  • Increased ability to respond to emergency cases
  • Strengthening collaboration with local service providers

Challenges

  • High and increasing demand for medical aid and assistive devices
  • Limited financial resources to cover the growing number of cases
  • Shortage of available medical equipment in local markets
  • Rising complexity of injuries and long-term care needs

 Urgent Need for Support

We are currently facing an urgent need for funding to continue providing essential medical aid.

Without additional support, it will not be possible to:

  • Purchase sufficient assistive devices
  • Respond to increasing emergency cases
  • Support both individual beneficiaries and local institutions
  • Meet the growing demand caused by ongoing instability

Call for Support

We urgently call on donors and partners to support this critical humanitarian response.

Your contribution will help us:

  • Provide essential medical and assistive devices
  • Reach a larger number of injured and vulnerable individuals
  • Support local organizations working on the ground
  • Respond effectively to increasing emergency needs

Medical aid is not just equipment—it is mobility, dignity, and the ability to live with independence.

With your support, we can continue to respond to urgent needs and ensure that no injured or vulnerable person is left without assistance.
