The Need Is Growing - Help Us Reach Those Waiting

By Ruaa Abu Odeh | Project leader

Dear Friend,

Thank you for standing with the people of Palestine through your support of this project. We want to share an honest update with you about where we are — and why your continued help matters now more than ever.

This project is still in its early stages. So far, the donations received have been modest, and we have not yet been able to purchase the medical devices our community so urgently needs. We believe in being transparent with you: rather than overstate our progress, we want you to understand both the reality on the ground and the difference your gift can make.

And the reality is this: the need has grown dramatically. Since the events of October 2023 and the war that followed, the number of people living with injuries and permanent disabilities in Bethlehem's refugee camps has risen sharply. Families come to us every week asking for help — for a wheelchair so a father can move through his home with dignity, for crutches so a young person can return to school, for the basic mobility aids that most of the world takes for granted.

At Noor Society for People with Disability, we have served our community in Aida, Al-Azza, and Dheisheh camps since 2010. We see these families. We hear their requests. And right now, the demand for support far exceeds what this project has been able to provide.

This is why your help is so important. Even a small gift brings us closer to purchasing the wheelchairs, crutches, and assistive devices that can restore movement, independence, and hope to someone who has lost so much. Every donation — no matter the size — is a step toward a person waiting for care.

We are committed to using your support responsibly and to keeping you informed, honestly, at every stage. As this project grows, we look forward to sharing with you the real stories of the lives your generosity has changed.

Thank you for believing in this work, and in the people it serves.

With gratitude,
Rua Ahmed Abu Odeh
Executive Director
