Dear Patrons, Welcome to 2024!
In the wake of COVID-19, our focus shifted, and we were only able to raise $1,000 for grants. However, with the dawn of 2024, we are eager to expand and invest more in this project. We collaborate with emerging stars from some of the most challenging townships, and with grants of around $500 to establish their businesses, they could become significant change-makers in their communities.
Let’s not forget, before the pandemic, we invested in two young men from a struggling township. Today, they own a restaurant, a catering business, and two mobile catering trucks. Before the pandemic, they employed 27 other young men who might have otherwise ended up in gangs or the criminal justice system. Our modest grant and support for these two entrepreneurs meant that 27 individuals were taken off the streets.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 forced them to shut down for almost 18 months, and they’ve had to rebuild. Currently, they employ 11 community members and are steadily regaining their momentum. Their story is inspiring, but they are not alone.
We have hundreds of motivated, passionate young individuals ready to transform their communities, but they need our help and investment in this project.
