¨Mom I´m walking again and I can wear the dress you gave me¨ said Carolina when she got her prosthesis one week ago.
Since she was amputated she had to sit all day long in a wheelchair, she had to quit school and spent the entire day sitting at home. Caro, as her friends call her, is an 11 years old kid that lost her leg due to a cancerous bone tumor that started two years ago.
Even she was struggling and received chemotherapy to beat cancer, it took away one of her legs, but not with it the strength and determination to keep fighting and living.
Now, after 9 months of being amputated and 7 months of not having a sign of cancer in her body she is more than ready to finally recover and walk again.
When she came to Mahavir Kmina she was a little bit shy, quiet and was even scared, but when Caro received the prosthesis she became powerful, trusted hersefl again and off course since she is super girly she was always looking at the mirror and thinking about the way she would look in the fancy and beautiful dresses she has.
At first when she had her prosthesis she had to practice a lot, but Caro was more than determined to control every inch of her body because in her own words ¨I´m gonna practice again and again until I´m able to walk to school all by myself¨
This is only one of the many stories and lifes you have helped us change throughout this year, like Caro there are too many kids and warriors that deserve a recognition, but here you are also the superstar and the hero, you and your donations made this dream came true and we would like to thank for that. If you would like to continue helping us and helping more kids to walk again we invite to sign up for a monthly recurring donation.
More than grateful and wishing a merry christmas and a happy new year full of blessings,
