Dear Supporters,
It is hard to believe that another school year is in full swing here in the United States. In Haiti however, the school year has just recently begun.
On the Palmyra side of our project, one activity in the works is a spring trip to Washington, DC to visit the Haitian embassy and GlobalGiving. This visit will give our Palmyra students the experience of networking with government liaisons and a large-scale nonprofit organization.
On the Haiti side, this school year is one of exciting possibilities thanks to a productive 2012/2013 school year. Les Bons Smaritains is admitting the largest kindergarten class in their history. With the use of schools’ technology, these 101 kindergarteners will have amazing opportunities for learning and global collaboration in the near future.
Thanks to Intel’s IESC team visit last spring (GG Update # 21) the technology capabilities at our schools in St. Marc continue to grow. Consistent, reliable electricity and Internet connections challenge our project from time to time, but your continued support continues to help us make improvements to make our connectivity increasingly consistent.
An opportunity to stretch your contribution dollars is just around the corner. Please mark the date of Wednesday, October 23rd as the next GlobalGiving matching day. Starting at 9am (eastern time) all donations given that day will be matched by 30%. Please consider a contribution that morning.
Thanks for your continued support.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
