"Saving 500 Children from Malnutrition"

Dear Donors,

We would like to express our sincere thanks for your continued contributions to the programme Saving 500 Children from Malnutrition. Your support has had a significant impact on the Boys and Girls Club of CDMX and Estado de Mexico.

We are pleased to report on how your donation has contributed to the growth and development of our members:

Results: We had a remarkable increase in the participation in the Crafts and Technology workshops, before the donation there were 80 members per day, after the donation the participation increased to 150 members per day.

Project first semester 2024 (Go Karts): This project is focused on the design and construction of a go-kart track, with the aim of making it safe and functional. This project not only gives the partners the opportunity to apply their engineering and design skills, but also promotes the use of sustainable energy sources, such as batteries, and the development of energy-efficient go-karts.

Participation in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO): Thanks to the collaboration agreement with LIKS school, we gathered 12 partners who have outstanding knowledge and skills in aspects of robotics, divided them into 4 teams of 4 people each, for their participation in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO). For the partners it will be an experience that will allow them to develop STEAM skills and also foster creativity and teamwork through complex robot design and programming challenges.

Summer Project (drones): The aim is to awaken the interest of members through the construction and programming of drones. This will allow them to learn about engineering principles, design, as well as help them develop programming skills and understand concepts of aerodynamics and physics.

Research project (Endangered Animals): The aim of this project was to foster creativity, promote teamwork and raise awareness of endangered species. In this initiative, the partners researched an animal of their choice and then built and added a moving mechanism to it. To complement the project, they designed a model recreating the habitat of the animal of their choice.
Participation in the Maker Faire: We will participate in the Maker Faire on 12-13 October 2024, where partners will present Maker Space and Robotics projects. This competition gives us the opportunity to highlight the innovative work being done at the Club.

The project "Providing 500 Underprivileged Children Job Skills" implemented by El Club de Niños y Niñas de CDMX y Estado de México highlights the challenges and overall impact of the project, providing a comprehensive overview.

I. Project Objective:

The primary objective of the "Providing 500 Underprivileged Children Job Skills" program is to empower disadvantaged youth by equipping them with essential job skills. Through targeted training and educational initiatives, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and create sustainable opportunities for these children to build successful and fulfilling careers. By focusing on skill development, we aspire to enhance their employability, foster self-reliance, and contribute to the overall socio-economic upliftment of underprivileged communities.

II. Expected Program Accomplishments:

Our program has the following objectives:

Career Guidance and Counseling: Providing personalized career guidance and counseling to help each child identify and pursue a career path aligned with their interests, skills, and aspirations.
Empowerment Through Education: Fostering a culture of continuous learning and empowerment by supporting participants in accessing further education and skill development opportunities beyond the initial program.
Sustainable Impact: Striving to create a lasting impact on the lives of the 500 children by instilling skills that contribute to their long-term economic independence, breaking the cycle of poverty.

III. Challenges:

Sustainability Beyond Training: Providing job skills is just one aspect; ensuring the sustainability of the acquired skills and facilitating job placements is equally critical. Developing partnerships with employers and establishing mentorship programs can contribute to long-term.

Collaboration with Stakeholders: Building effective partnership non-profit organizations, and local communities is essential for program success. Collaboration can enhance the program's reach and effectiveness through shared resources and expertise.

V. Lessons Learned:

Implementing mentorship programs and establishing connections with employers ensure the sustained success of participants beyond the training period.

Acknowledging the importance of digital literacy is essential. Integrating technology into the curriculum and addressing digital access challenges are crucial for preparing participants for modern job markets.

VI. Recommendations for the Future:

Explore additional funding opportunities to expand the reach and impact of the project. This report reflects the commitment of the Boys & Girls Club of CDMX and the State of Mexico to improve the well-being of the beneficiaries.
