Anna joined Nor Luyce in September 2020. When she joined, her mother asked us to help the daughter to become more social, be integrated within the community, and assist to find interests in life. Since September 5 months have passed and last week when we met Anna’s mom again, she kept expressing her gratitude to the organization, to Anna’s mentor because a vast change can be seen in Anna. Her mom kept saying that Anna has become more initiative, started to express the internet in everything, became very active, and can easily make friends in her community.

Nor Luyce continues its women empowerment activities. During the last 3 months, our mentor-mentee pairs have realized 648 hours of individual and group mentoring meetings. Those meetings allowed the mentees to reveal their strengths, weaknesses, emotions, and how to manage all these emotions. The girls were empowered to change their weaknesses into strengths with the help of their mentors.

As always our program empowers not only adolescent girls but also young women through providing them necessary professional skills: such as ‘The psychology of winners’ and ‘Grief, how to overcome grief and loss.'

Along with the advancement of personal skills, the girls also continue practicing their computer skills and gaining new life-skills. During these last 3 months, the girls were provided with 30 hours of group meetings, during which they learned how to write a resume, what professions talk to their personal traits, they also revealed how to get ready for job interviews, how to be a good leader, how to keep safe from viruses, etc. The girls are not only participating in the educational meetings, but they also have a fun time celebrating New Year, international mentoring day, and other fun holidays.

In these three months, one of the most important meetings was the meeting with famous Armenian singers and dancer- Sofi Devoyan, Zaruhi Babayan, and Sofi Devoyan Jr. These well-known and respected women shared their success stories with our girls motivating them to follow their dreams and not to step back no matter how hard the road to success is.
