The project where we provide doctors with books for toddlers combines the promotion of reading among young children with preventive medicine. As part of the program, doctors receive packages of children's books and encourage parents to read with their children daily. The initiative aims to support children's mental and physical health, foster their emotional and intellectual development, and promote educational equity by providing easy access to books.
Over the past three months, we have distributed several dozen book packages to doctors and regional libraries, which in turn passed them on to local clinics, expanding the program's reach. In total, approximately 4,500 books were provided for young children. Feedback from doctors has been overwhelmingly positive – they emphasize the value of the initiative, and children receive the books with great enthusiasm.
The project brings the concept of shared reading from the cultural sphere into pediatric practice. It particularly supports families in more challenging circumstances, including refugees, low-income households, and residents of smaller towns. In doing so, it not only nurtures reading habits but also helps build psychological resilience and emotional stability within families.
Our plan is to continue developing the program and to ensure that every doctor who joins the initiative can receive books for their patients. Achieving this goal is possible only thanks to the commitment and support of our donors. Daily reading from the earliest years of life is crucial for a child's development, and with the supporters, we can make a tangible difference in leveling the playing field for young children across the country.
