IWACU KAZOZA SCHOOL REPORT 2013-2014

During the school year 2013-2014, with the help of JRMD donors, friends, and friends of friends Iwacu Kazoza School provided education to 452 (219 boys and 233 girls) unprivileged children from Ruhagarika village, surrounding areas and beyond. The school provided jobs to 26 teachers and school administration staff. If one person was to try to do this work alone, it would have been impossible.

I am very thankful to our donors and friends, and friends of friends who are making their donations to help JRMD continue provide education to  the unprivileged kids, schooling at Iwacu Kazoza School.  This was only possible by joining hands together to build the society and the world we want, that each one of us is longing to belong to and live in.

Today, Iwacu Kazoza School  is counted as one of the best schools in Cibitoke province even in the country of Burundi, of the schools providing  qualitative education. Students, parents and people  like  Iwacu Kazoza School. This is a good result of your work and our work together. Let us together give thanks, glory and honor to God, the Creator.

We give thanks to our donors and GlobalGiving for making possible the education of these children, who could not have access to education without your financial help and prayers.

During 2013-2014 school year, we experienced hard times, due to the lack of availability of funds to pay teachers and school administration staff at the end of each month.

But, because of your donations, during the school year 2013-2014,  the school was able to :

  1. Raise $47,089.48 through GlobalGiving
  2. Provide education to 452 children
  3. Add grade 5 and grade 10
  4. Pay   salaries of 26 teachers and school administration staff
  5. Roof 2 additional classrooms
  6. Purchase school materials

In addition, students, parents, teachers and surrounding community celebrated together the end of 2013-2014 school year, with great joy and interest.

The school year 2014-2015 opened on September 1st, 2014, with 495 students, made by girls and boys, from Ruhagarika Village, surrounding areas and beyond. During this school year, Iwacu Kazoza School has 28 teachers and school administration staff.

Urgent needs:

  1. Roof 2 more additional classrooms (the 2 more additional classrooms to be roofed are at the stage of roofing)
  2. Purchase teacher and student books
  3. Purchase more student benches
  4. Money to pay tecahers and school administration staff
  5. Purchase 2 big plastic water tanks to secure water for the school
  6. Purchase more laptops

I am very grateful and appreciative to each one of our donors, friends, and friends of friends who made possible the 452 unprivileged children to have access to education during the school year 2013-2014. May God continue to bless each one of you in a very special way.
