2017 was a very busy year for our outreach project. We hosted 52 eco-clubs in two schools, had 43 young adults attend our Job Hunting program and ran 3 Job Hunting workshops in the Oaks village! We also participated in a large community clean up for Nelson Mandela day in July.
It has been a great year with some of the highlights including a special field trip with the eco-club to Moholoholo Rehabilitation Center and a chess competition hosted in November for the children at Maahlamele School.
Over the past year, we have been working hard to redesign and update our Job Hunting program. The first week of the program will begin on January 15th where we will welcome 8 unemployed youths to the camp to help them get the skills they need to find a job. Given the numerous updates we have made to the program, we hope 2018 will be our most successful year yet!
In two weeks time, the eco-club will start again at Maahlamele and Rakgolowana Schools. Our Outreach Manager has been busy creating a fun and enriching curriculum for the children this year!
