WE WILL CONTINUE TO ADVOCATING FOR THOSE IN NEED
We Will continue to advocate for those in need until they are resettled and have a shelter where they can live with their families and where they call home.
As informed you in my previous reports, some of the survivors of Carama flooding are still living in the remains and others are still living in displacement camps; today they feel like abandoned survivors, waiting for a help from people who care to make them smile again and be resettled in their own homes. Remember, during the Bujumbura flooding, one couple lost their 6 children, killed by torrential rains and over 100 people died.
The current living situation of those families continues to become more horrible, due to the lack of food to eat and shelter. As they continue to live in the remains of the houses destroyed by floods, they are afraid that any time, they can fall on them and be killed.
To build one home it costs $1,489, a home that can accommodate a family of 7 to 10 people. A home is one of the most important things which contribute to the good living and security of a human being.
As we continue to share the needs of Carama Survivors, I continue to hope and believe that donors will consider making donations to this project, so that we can help the survivors of Carama rebuild their homes, in their own land and save their lives.
Until this project is fully funded, we will be sending you regular reports about our work. You'll know what your donation has helped fund, what accomplishments we have achieved and what our current needs are.
Thank you so much for your consideration to help JRMD make a difference in Carama survivor community in Burundi, Africa.
