All children deserve to be happy and healthy and have access to effective psychological care. We're so proud that NYF's Ankur Counseling and Training Center is a mental health pioneer in Nepal, providing life-transforming support for children and youth across our programs.
Your generous support helped to make these recent highlights possible:
This past spring, Ankur Counseling and Training Center was also featured at the Ministry of Health and Population’s International Mental Health Conference in Kathmandu. The conference was an important venue for sharing therapy techniques, professional insight, and data in an emerging field in Nepal.
Each quarter Ankur conducts approximately 120 counseling sessions (90 individual sessions and 30 group sessions) and approximately 20 house visits at Olgapuri Children's Homes for over 100 children, adolescents, and adults employing appropriate psychological interventions such as sand play therapy, expressive art therapy, cognitive behavior techniques, clay therapy, mandala work, relaxation, and non- directive play therapies.
Ankur also provides ongoing support to staff in their work with children with sessions such as Effective Communication Skills and Positive Parenting.
With your support, children who have endured unimaginably tragic hardships are healing and thriving. Dhanyabad!
