Eight year old “Anjana” had an extremely difficult childhood. After her father left their family, Anjana’s mother patched together a livelihood with odd jobs to provide for her barely 3 year-old daughter. In desperation, she resorted to dangerous labor. To protect her daughter from the high risk environment, she left Anjana with relatives. Extremely poor themselves, their meager resources soon ran out. Fortunately they were able to turn to NYF to provide a safe home.
Staff from NYF's Ankur Counseling Center meet with Anjana regularly to help her heal from trauma and loss.
She is making remarkable progress in both individual and group counseling and adjusting well to her new environment.
Each year over 450 children like Anjana receive the support they need to turn a life of unimaginable hardship to one full of hope and opportunity. It's the generosity that you share with NYF that helps make it all possible. Dhanyabad!
