“Ujesh” was just a baby when he tragically lost his mother to suicide. His desperately poor father scraped together a livelihood for a few years, but then disappeared - leaving Ujesh to fend for himself.
In the safe and stable environment of Olgapuri Children’s Village, Ujesh, now seven years old, is thriving. He goes to school every day, and comes home to a big "family" that supports and cares for him. But in order to continue enjoying his childhood, Ujesh needs to heal from the trauma of his past.
Staff at NYF’s Ankur Counseling Center provides specialized counseling and therapy sessions for Ujesh, and so many other children just like him. By addressing the deep trauma of loss and abandonment through age-appropriate approaches, Ankur counselors help Ujesh develop healthy coping skills.
Your generosity has helped to heal so many children just like Ujesh - and we hope you’ll continue your support for Ankur’s programs. Thank you.
